Recently, you may have noticed a spike in the number of posts coming from your "Cool Pups" or "Morning Toast" groups. Why is that? It's primarily due to Facebooks latest algorithm, deemed the "equivalent of a digital living room" by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
“a service that functions as a digital equivalent of the living room, where people communicate with smaller trusted groups.”
In an attempt to battle a number of fires such as fake news, political bias, and hate speech Facebook manipulated their current Newsfeed algorithm to show more posts from users in groups you interact with. This means less content coming to your screen from individual posts and rather a more partitioned spread of posts.
In an ever lasting battle for reach, one approach you may want to consider while planning your next social media campaign is utilizing these groups. Often times members of these groups have similar interests which results in an immediate filter for your industry specific advertisement. Just don't overdo it or you may find yourself booted by a moderator.
